ID side Cookies policy
January 2020
You are on ID side’s Cookies Policy.
It is applicable on www.idside.eu (https://idside.eu), the website of ID side SAS, hereinafter referred to as ‘ID side’ or “we”.
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files (up to 4KB) created by a website and stored on your connected device (whether it is a computer, a tablet or a mobile phone).
Cookies are not used to fully identify anyone visiting a website individually: such files keep track of “traffic patterns” to determine individual user’s preferences (i.e. language).
Cookies can be placed directly by the owners of a website (they are then called First Party Cookies) or by third parties with whom they cooperate to help diagnose technical problems, analyse the traffic to the website, analyse trends or observe and measure how visitors engage with the website (they are then called Third Party Cookies). Doing so, Cookies help the website “recognise you” and keep track of your preferences.
Cookie Policies’ objective
The aim of Cookies policie is to transparently share with you on how each website identifies your preferences and “how” it proceeds to better know those.
It consequently should check on how you would like each specific website to identify your preferences.
As third parties can also place Cookies and similar techniques to better know you (i.e. to check on your internet behaviour and show your personalised ads outside their website), the partnerships tied by a website with such Third Parties are clarified.
Such Policies also clarify whether some information will be collected about you (through those third party Cookies) concerning your device or your browser, notably on the way you flip through a website content (not linked to your name, address or e-mail address).
Cookies from ID side
Functional Cookie (or Session Cookie )
Today, ID side collects one by-default: the Session cookie. These Cookies allow you to sign-in and stay logged from one page to another on the concerned website, before you decide to log-off.
This Cookies is a by-default Cookie because it is essential in order to enable you to move around our website and use it. For instance, sticking to the language you pick might depend on such Cookies! Other example: without the session Cookies, you can't log in and be provided with a secured website.
Persistent “log-in” Cookie
ID side offers the possibility to use another functional Cookie, which is not a Cookie "by default" but that our team has retained as useful and potentially appreciated by most of you: a persistent “connection" Cookie -also called" log-in “ Cookie, which (as its name suggests) allows you to stay connected from one session to another. In a nutshell, it avoids logging-in each time you come back to our web app.
When you register, we inform you of the presence of this Cookie. You enable it either validating from the outset that this Cookie should be activated or clicking on the “Remember me” button proposed when you sign-in.
For those who do not wish to activate such Cookie, you will have to insert your username and password for each of your connections on ID side or you will have to use the log-in solutions provided by your browsers.
Cookies from embedded services on ID side
We use Third parties services, such as Vimeo, Matomo or Stripe, to play ID side Motion Design video summarising our mission , to better your browsing experience on ID side based on analytics or to collect donations. Therefore, we invite you to go and check Vimeo Cookies Policy and Stripe Cookie Policy, respectively covering Vimeo Vimeo, Matomo & Stripe services.
For instance, if you access our video or donate on ID side, the embedded Vimeo player or the “Donation button” you click on will establish a connection to Vimeo or Stripe so that the video can be transmitted and played or that you can contribute to fund us in few clicks. In the process, data are also transmitted to Vimeo or Stripe as the controlling bodies. Quite obviously, we are not responsible for the processing of such data by Vimeo or Stripe.
Specifically, regarding the Performance & Analytics Cookies set by Matomo, we would like to stress that all information these Cookies collect is aggregated and therefore processed in a de-identified way.
Such Cookies collect information about how visitors use our website, notably which pages visitors go to most/least often. It allows to test the intelligibility of such website, better its design and reshape Content provided accordingly.
Despite we initially decided to avoid using Analytics Cookies, most currently used being the ones of Google Analytics, we finally retained that those remain key to provide visitors with a seamless browsing experience, and decided to use Matomo.
Further information concerning the extent and purpose of the collected data, on any further processing and utilisation of your data by Vimeo or Stripe, on your rights and on your selectable data protection options can be found in the Privacy Policy of Vimeo and the , the one of Matomo and the one of Stripe.
Cookies from social networks
As a crowdsourced web app, ID side offers some mainstream social networks’ functionalities in order to give you the opportunity to share your Privacy Choices and recommend our web app in social networks.
If you visit our web app and plan to use our social plug-ins, we pass on the URL to the social network you enabled.
Using the Cookies monitoring tool we provide you with before registering (the personalisation of Cookies screen), you can deactivate all Cookies corresponding to social networks you do not plan to use.
In case you want to be put in capacity to use any embedded service provided on ID side, and do not deactivate any Cookies a priori and by-default, we recommend that you read the privacy information of the respective social networks carefully, notably:
Cookies storage on ID side
Cookies are stored either temporarily for one session only (such is the case of our session Cookie) or permanently on the hard disk (such is the case for “log-in” Cookies). Otherwise, we will not store ID side cookies for more than 13 months.
Cookies that ID side will never use : Advertising Cookies
Some websites use Cookies to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. Those are targeting or advertising Cookies, also used to tailor effective advertising campaign based on the interests you show online. They are usually placed by advertising networks along with the website operator’s permission.
ID side will not use such Cookies on its website, neither today, nor tomorrow.
Your Cookies preferences outside of ID side
ID side Privacy Choices include few questions on your Cookie preferences. It is there to help you share your by-default preferences regarding Cookies settings.
Before ID side concretely enables you to systematically share such preferences with most websites (that would be willing to partner with us), we would like to flag that you can prevent your browser to store Cookies and/or delete the Cookies from your device via the browser settings. In this case, you have to set Cookies device per device.
For more information on the setting of Cookies, you can access the following webpages:
Opera Mobile page
Even if such option is not implementable on all websites, you can also set your browser so that it sends a code indicating to websites that you do not wish to be tracked. ('Do Not Track' option):

Microsoft Internet Explorer™
Mozilla Firefox™
Opera™
Finally, you can find helpful resources to learn about advertisers’ use of Cookies:
